This semi- private small group tour from Dublin gives you the best of both worlds. Enjoy an early morning pick- up from your hotel, share a luxury vehicle with no more than 16 passengers and stay at 4 star hotels, country inns and guesthouse
You will be collected from your accommodation in central Dublin at 09:00 where you will commence your tour, with a 2hour drive to Belfast. We will make several stops before arriving. Our first stop being the historical ruins of Monasterboice. Here is your chance to see the round tower that was constructed in the 10th century and gain an understanding of how it was used by ancient Irish people. You can touch some of the most remarkable Celtic crosses in the country; these spectacular constructs were carved by Christian monks in the 9th century.
After that we will arrive in Belfast and visit the number one attraction of the city which is the Titanic Experience- the entrance is included. You will have the opportunity to learn about the fascinating history of the Titanic. Then, you will gain an understanding of the full process from construction of the Titanic in the 1910s to the launch of the famous maiden voyage and its catastrophic fate.
With plenty of time to explore the city, we suggest the Black Taxi tour which provides a political and historical journey of Belfast city. This attraction is highly recommended by Lonely Planet. You will learn about the city’s troubled history and how it was resolved, you will also visit the Falls and Shankill roads and the Peace wall and the murals. While you are here, it’s also a great opportunity for shopping, with cheaper prices than in Dublin. For this reason we recommend that you spend your free time having lunch and browsing in the city centre.
Other attractions that you might consider visiting are Queen’s University, City Hall, Botanic Gardens, Belfast’s leaning tower- Albert Clock and the Crown liquor saloon. We will stay the night in Belfast where there is a great range of restaurants, bars and music venues to suit all tastes.
We will depart Belfast in the morning and make our way through County Antrim towards the North Coast of Ulster. Our first stop today will be Ballintoy and the Fascinating Dark Hedges. It’s where the famous Carrick-a- Rede rope bridge is located and it’s also famed by the popular series- Games of Thrones.
Here you will have the chance to walk across the exhilarating and breath-taking rope bridge to Carrick-a- Rede Island for spectacular views of Scotland. The giant gap which is 30m in depth and 20m wide is crossed by a rope bridge which is considered by many tourists the highlight of the tour and a must see. The Giant’s Causeway is frequently referred to as ‘The Eighth Wonder of the World’. The Giant’s Causeway was created by a volcanic eruption approximately 60 million years ago and it’s composed of 40,000 hexagonal basalt columns, making it one of the most unique natural attractions. Celtic legend has it that the Giant’s Causeway was built by a giant named Fionn MacCool to allow himself to travel to Scotland across the water. In the afternoon, we will return to Dublin and stop for refreshment along the way. We will be back in Dublin at approximately 18:00 after an exciting and memorable Irish Experience.
“We experienced Giant’s Causeway with Ronan today and without doubt, it was the best tour we have ever been on. “RoRo” was a phenomenal guide. He is so knowledgable but also funny and quick-witted. Having such an intimate group in the 16 seat van made all the difference, and we will certainly join you again when we return. Can’t say enough about the tour, the company, and Ronan. Cheers!
